John graduated from the University of Southern California in 1967, majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. After passing the CPA exam, he pursued further education at Loyola Law School, graduating in 1970. John is licensed to practice before all California State and Federal Courts, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

In 1990, the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California designated John as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trusts, and Probate Law. He has diligently maintained his specialist status through ongoing education. Over the years, John has received the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the renowned Attorney Rating Service, being recognized as 'AV' or 'Preeminent.' 

Following his four years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California, John ventured into private practice, initially in Marysville and later in Yuba City. He and his wife, Maureen, reside in Sutter County along with of their four children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

John is very active in his community and church. He has spoken at the Yuba Sutter Bar Association, Sons in Retirement, and other groups sharing his expertise in estate planning. He played a crucial role in establishing five local non-profit community organizations: Sutter-Yuba Friday Night Live, Yuba-Sutter Right to Life, Yuba-Sutter Estate Planning Counsel, Yuba-Sutter Estate Planning Professionals, and the Chesterton Academy of the Most Holy Eucharist.

Despite practicing law for over 52 years, John remains passionate about his work, particularly emphasizing careful pre-death planning to prevent complications after death, as well as resolving post-death issues when they arise. His main objectives are to offer clients’ peace of mind and family harmony, while minimizing taxes, expenses, delays, and public exposure of their assets.
